Birthday Celebration #2....a SUPER Party!

This past Saturday we had Lane's 5th Birthday Party at Urban Air! I tell ya, whoever thought of a trampoline park was a genius!! After going to a party there, Lane was sold! He also choose Superman as the theme! This was the first time that I didn't really have to "go all out" for a party....and I do have to admit, it was kinda nice!! The only thing I decorated was the table and the only other party stuff I did was the favors! Simmmple!!

He had a blast!! We had 12 kiddos and lots of family there to celebrate my favorite five year old! So now, on with the pictures!

I found these adorable cups on Etsy that served great as favor holders!! The shop was called Signature Avenue! I loved them!!

This was one of the things in their cups! I found this idea on Pinterest!! Glow sticks as "kryptonite"!

My aunt produced more amazing cakes as always!

Quick story.....I didn't really think anything about it when Lane picked the theme awhile back. Fast forward to about 2-3 weeks before party time, and Superman party decor is nowhere to be found! Apparently a new line is coming out in May, so basically you had to look on Ebay for "rare vintage Superman decor"...that came with a not so pretty price!! And if you know me and parties, you know there was no way I was going to go with paper products that came from the venue. So what's a girl....I mean a crazy party planning, gotta have everything look cute girl to do....I bought plain jane paper products in Superman colors, then whipped up some cute tags to dress the napkins up!! I think it worked, and I kinda even like it better!

After the party, the whole family went out to dinner! We had to take a shot of our crazy crew!

The party was so fun!! Lane had a blast and we are so thankful for all of our family who were able to come and for all of Lane's sweet friends who came as well!! He is on lucky kid!

Now back to square one...gotta get on the ball for planning birthday party number two for Mr. Levi!

Lane Turns FIVE

I wanted to document his actual birthday yesterday! Lane woke up to a chorus of Happy Birthday singing from mommy, daddy, and Levi! Paul had taken two days off and it just so happened to be on Lane's birthday, so Lane was going to get a special treat and spend some of the day with daddy! Daddy had a few errands to run first, so he took the boys to school, with donuts in hand, a special request from the birthday boy!

Around 9ish yesterday morning, I received some precious pictures from the director of our school! Just another reason why I love SS!! Her message was "Thought you may want these!" They were of Lane's birthday donut breakfast!

Levi loves Mrs. Patty, so she let him hang with the big kids and eat breakfast!

Paul picked him up and their first stop was Bueno for some lunch, then they headed to Main Event for some bowling!! Paul said Lane had a blast! Paul was on strict picture taking duty from me, ha!! Here is some of their fun....

Once I got home, it was time for presents. Lane had held out all day and was dying to open them!

He immediately wanted all his gifts opened, especially his new IPAD!!! He was so excited that he had his own!! Daddy loaded it with all his favorite games and apps!! 

After playing, we let Lane choose where he wanted to go for dinner...he choose McDonalds of course! So we obliged! After dinner it was abck home for baths and more playing! A fun birthday for my sweet five year old!!!

5 Years Old: A Birthday Letter from Mommy

To My Sweet Big Boy,

Today you turned FIVE!! I can't even believe that you are that old!! You have been so excited about this birthday, watching as all your sweet friends turn five, asking me all the time when it would be your turn, anxiously awaiting YOUR big day! And here it is!

I want to write about some of your favorite things right now, so one day you can look back and read about and laugh at all this! 

.

You are obsessed with sports! Every day you want to get in the backyard and practice. You have so much internal passion for playing! Your daddy and I love watching you play! I only hope that this stays with you as you continue to grow!

.

You are still my very picky eater! McDonalds is still your top choice and Chick-Fil-A is your close second, ha! You love your chocolate milk and your chocolate Poptarts! 

.

Some of your favorite shows and movie right now are: Ninja Turtles, any superhero cartoon,Team Umizoomi, The Sandlot, Mighty Ducks to name a few.

On the school front, you are doing so well! You have began to read and all blowing me away with how quickly you are picking it up! You love to learn new things and love to go to school!

You have such a sweet, sensitive heart. You love your brother, but do also still want your alone time! 

.

You really really want a dog, but since mommy and daddy just can't make that a reality, you have Spot, and you seriously treat him like the real deal!

 

I love the little man that you are becoming! You amaze me and make me so proud every single day. Thank you for making me a mommy, and being the best little boy I could have ever asked for!

Birthday Celebration #1 and 500!

Just a quick note....this is my 500th blog post!!! So crazy to me!! It's so wild to think that I started this blog over five years ago, pregnant with Lane, and have documented our lives since! I love blogging and hope to continue it for awhile!.

OK, so yesterday all our activities were cancelled due to the rain, bummer. So we found ourselves with a day completely open! We decided to go see the Easter bunny, seeing how Easter is next weekend!! So we met my sister in law and her kiddos at the mall. Lane was a breeze, but Levi! Mr. Levi decided he did not like the bunny and screamed!! So what did we do...

We put Levi in his stroller and pushed him up there! He was at a safe enough distance away, ha! This pic is  a little blurry....it was a pic of a pic!

Paul's dad and Cindy can't make it to the party today, so yesterday they came up to celebrate Lane! We all went to Chuck E. Cheese. The kids played and played and had a great time! Lane scored some Ninja Turtles that he has been wanting for a long time!

And just for fun...we have gone to Chuck E. Cheese every single year for our little family celebration for Lane. While there on our first birthday, I took this pic of him on this horse! Well the next year I did the same, and it just kinda became this little tradition to take the same picture at Chuck E. Cheese every year on his birthday!
