A Bit of This and a Bit of That!

This post is kind of all over the place.....

Baby Update: My sister is around 37 weeks right now. For the past couple of weeks the doctor was monitoring her for early signs of Pre-Eclampsia...however it doesn't appear that she has it, thank goodness. She is very ready for Brody to make his entrance, as are we!! I can't wait to get to Arizona for Thanksgiving...I will have a whole week to spend and love on my new little nephew! Since most of the family won't be at the birth, I wanted to make sure that she didn't miss out on anything, so I made Brody a hospital door hanger. I really had no idea at what I was doing, just kinda went off mine, but I think it works!! Hang in there sis! Spooky Kooky Kastle: Keller had a cute little Halloween activity this past Sunday. They decorated one of their parks, had trick or treating through the jungle gym, lots of games and activites, a bounce house and more! So we took Lane up there and he had a grand ole time! All though he is still a bit young for the games and all, he LOVED playing on the playground! Here he is walking through the playground...

Look at his little candy corn longhorn shirt!

Sliding down the slide, still holding his pumpkin (he slide NUMEROUS times!!)

with his paci of course

Pumpkin Carving....is hard! I decided to give it a try, being inspired and all, but it turned out to be a bit hard! I actually started on a medium sized one that was going to say Trick or Treat, but I messed it up, so then I moved on to the small Longhorn, which was not to hard. So, I just decided to paint the last one, and I setteled on polka-dots....thank goodness orange is one of UT's colors!! Maybe I'll try again next year!

Sneak Peek... and now I leave you with a sneak of Lane's Halloween costume! More to come Saturday!

Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere!!

Last night we went over to my Papa's house to visit and watch the Texas Game! We had a great time and Lane played all night! Robin had a great idea to do some carving and carved out some cute designs! Even a special little one with Lane's name on it! Lane was a trooper and did some posing for us!
.
All the pumpkins....I love the UT one!

Lane and his very own pumpkin!

Here it is in his room..
I turned the light on inside and his light off and he loved looking at it sparkle!
Thanks Papa and Robin for having us over, and Aunt Kelly for playing with me!! Hook' Em!
.

Oh, and I'll be trying some of my own pumpkin carving today, so we will see how they turn out!

Story Time

Lane is very into books right now!! And being a reading teacher and a book lover myself, I love this and hope he develops into a love of reading!!! Anyway, he says "book" all the time and will go into his room and ask for them, more like point and say book, and play with them for awhile. This past weekend, we were playing in his room and he got up into his chair and decided to have an impromptu story time with his friends!! Very sweet!

Pumpkins and Pigskin!!

This weekend started off early Saturday afternoon with the big TX/OU Game! Both teams put up a great defensive game and we came out with the WIN!! Go Texas!!

Today we took Lane over to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound! When we got there it was so crowded!! Lane is a little boy on the move, so picture taking was harder this year than last! He didn't really want to stop and pose with all the character cut-outs, just look and move on! I got a quick one of the wagon. If you look closely, Lane is wearing a cute little shirt that says "Lil Longhorn Pumpkin" , with longhorns inside the middle, in honor of the win of course!

This is what he did most of the time, run around the pumpkin patch itself and look around!

A quick one with Charlie Brown and Co.

He also LOVED this little house with pumpkins inside! The shelves were full of little pumpkins, he would pick them up and take them over to other shelves!

We ended the afternoon with a ride around the patch!

This is my little pumpkin last year.....my how much he has grown!

At daycare this week, Lane is "Student of the Week"! I think it is hilarious that they do this for the little ones, but so cute! So here is Lane's bulletin board!

Oprah Live!

Well I can check off one thing on my life to do list...see Oprah!!! This morning she was taping in Dallas, so my grandma, aunt and I headed over to Fair Park to see her! We got suprisingly great spots and good see her pretty good! Gayle King was there and so was the very handsome Nate Berkus!! And Martina McBride was there to sing.

And it ended with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

It was a good time and I am glad the weather held up! I would love to see her at her studios in Chicago, but if this is my only Oprah sighting, I'll be happy!

Quickest Craft Ever!

I've been wanting to put up some more Halloween decor around the house and came across this idea on where else, a blog, and thought it was cute. So I headed to Michael's, got my stuff, and had it put together in no time! I think Lane likes them, he kept going over to where they were and saying "Ball"! Thought I would share this because it was pretty funny...this morning while Paul was out mowing, Lane followed him around the house, watching him out of every window he could!! Here he is watching Paul on the side of the house through the kitchen window...

And here is he watching Paul in the front through the guest room window!!
I'm sure when he gets a little older he will be right out there helping his daddy!
(Side Note: Yes this was in the morning, and yes Lane has his tennis shoes on with his pj's! Lane loves shoes and literally will ask for them by going "shoes, shoes" right when he wakes up!)
