The Pumpkin Patch

A couple of weekends ago, Paul and I took Lane over to the Flower Mound Pumpkin. We went pretty early and be the big crowd. Also the weather that morning was great! This year Lane could do alot more! When we got there the first thing we came to was a little hay maze. Lane jumped right on in!

Going down the slide to get out!

Sweet little face!

There were pumpkins everywhere and Lane loved to pick the small ones up!

Then daddy got Lane a sno cone, so we found a place to sit and watched all that was going on!

Lane wasn't feeling all the cut-outs this year. Even though he loves Dora now, he was kinda freaked by them I think!

He got to do his favorite thing...

And then it was time to go pick out our big pumpkins...some were as big as Lane

He found one, and wanted to ride with it in the wagon.

This year daddy got to ride the train with him.
He loved the train!

And then we made it had had enough....and yes that is sno cone #2! Hey, gotta live a little right!
Overall the trip to the patch was fun! I can't wait till next year when little Levi is in tow!

And just b/c I couldn't help it....
It's crazy to see how much he has grown!

Gender Reveal Party

This past Sunday we hosted a Gender Reveal Party for my family and close friends. These parties are a fun new trend and I knew I wanted to have one this go round. It was a quick plan but luckily it all came together great!
.
I started with this fun little invitation I made.
Even though I asked people to come wearing pink or blue, I still wanted a "visual" at the party to see what everyone thought. So as people arrived they were asked to cast their vote by choosing either a "baseball" or a "bow"! I wanted to incorporate part of the invite!
Then hang it on the clothsline! This was a cute idea from a friend, and I love how it looked hanging up! Everyone wrote their names on the papers, so this is something I can keep!

This was the dessert table! Everything was pink and blue! I had cupcakes, cookies, hershey kisses, cotton candy, and gumballs! I also hung the paci's from the light fixture!

We got alot of pics from the appointment, so I put two of them out, one on blue paper and one on pink!
Here was TEAM BLUE!!
And TEAM PINK!!
And then it was time for the reveal. I was holding a pink balloon and Paul a blue one. We filled both with blue confetti, and told eveyone whatever color came out is what we're having! (Unfortunately I don't have a pic of us holding them, but you get the idea)

This was right after the pop, to which Lane came running out of this room!!
.
We had a great afternoon. I'm so thankful for everyone who was able to make it! What fun memories to look back on!!

October Book Club Pick

I just realized today that I never posted the book pick for this month! Oops! Well this month we read...
This was a very good book...a bit heavy but a very fast paced, once you hit a certain point you don't want to stop book!

This is the back of the book that kinda grabs your attention...

"This is the story of two women. Their lives collide one fateful day, and one of them has to make a terrible choice, the kind of choice we hope you never have to make.  Two years later, they meet again--the story starts there...
Once you have read it, you'll want to tell your friends about it. When you do, please don't tell them what happens.  The magic is in how the story unfolds."

Like I said, good book, and if you're looking for something to read this is pretty interesting!

Crazy!

Back when I was pregnant with Lane, Paul and I opted to do the quad screen, which was a simple blood test to screen for things such as Down Syndrome, Spinal Bifida, and so forth. Our thought was that if something was wrong then we would want time to prepare ourselves both mentally and physically, as in get everything we possibly could ready. There was never going to be a decision made.
.
So with this pregnancy, when my doctor asked if we wanted to be screened, we said yes. However, this time, my doctor's office is partnered with a Perinatologist. So we were sent over there for a blood test and this time, an ultrasound. It was to do alot of measuring and stuff. This was not the normal ultrasound, but a little bit higher level one.  Everything measured out perfect and right on point, thank the lord! We just want a healthy baby. However, what we didn't expect was to find out the gender at that appointment!!! BUT WE DID!!! I was surprised because it is so early but two people, the sonographer and the doctor, both were in agreement, so I feel pretty good!
.
So now I an in super high gear planning a Gender Reveal Party for Sunday!! I can't wait! So check back Sunday night for the big surprise!!

12 Week Bumpdates

Well hello week 12...time is flying by! The past four weeks have been up and down. About two weeks ago the nausea during the day has gone away which was wonderful. However by the time 8 'o clock rolls around I am wiped out. I really hope that my energy comes back sometime soon! The house needs cleaning, laundry piles up quick and poor Paul is doing his best to keep up everything!! I'm just ready to feel 100% me again!!
.
My 12 week appointment this past Wednesday went good. Baby's heartbeat was about 150 again. Everyone looked great, except for the fact that I had gained 5 lbs. in one month! That scared me a bit!! It's too ealry to be gaining that much in one month! Oh well...whatever the baby needs right!?
.
So here are my 12 week bump pics!

A Boy and his Boots

Here is a little sneek peak of our little Cowboy! Tomorrow is Cowboy Round-Up Day at school, so we headed out tonight to get him some boots to wear. And he loves them! He is so excited about his cowboy boots!
.
What was really funny is when I told him we were going to go get some cowboy boots b/c tomorrow is cowboy day at school, he goes "yeah....I'm score touchdown"!! I seriously think he thinks I mean cowboy as in Dallas Cowboys and that he is going to get to play football tomorrow at school! Silly Boy!
.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of him this evening after bath, back in his boots!

Would you look at that belly!!

I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday! Up this weekend is Rangers games, UT game, and the Pumpkin Patch!!

My Lawn Boys

So for a while now Lane has been obssessed about mowing with Paul. Whenever Paul mows, Lane does too. And for some reason I have never been around to catch it...I guess I've always been out running errands or something, not real sure. Anyway, yesterday Paul got off work early, so when I pulled up this is what I saw!!! So I ran in and grabbed my camera! This is just too sweet not to document! My little man doing everything his daddy does!
.
And what was even funnier was as they were mowing all I could hear was "Wait daddy...wait for me" or "I'm coming daddy I'm coming"!! So cute!!

In other news I am 11 weeks today!! I'll be back next Saturday with my 12 week post and doctor appointment update!! I can't wait to find out in about 8 weeks if I'll have three lawn boys or someone to watch the boys with mamma!!

Little Ranger Fan

Daddy dresses Lane for daycare every morning, so today, in honor of the Rangers making it to the playoffs and their first game today, daddy put Lane in his Ranger Jersey for school! Lane loved that he was getting to wear it, and Paul said that when he took him to school, he ran in and very proudly was showing everyone "my jersey"! So cute!!

And the RANGERS won!!

R.I.P. Paci

I'm alive!!! Ok, a bit dramatic, but I'm still here...I can't believe its been 2 weeks since I've blogged about anything! Just this week I have started to feel like myself again...energy back, no sickness, just overall feeling much much better! Anyway moving on to this post!!
.
This is a very dear post to me! This will go down as a MILESTONE for our sweet little man! A little over a week ago, TEN days ago to be exact, we said goodbye to our dear friend, the PACI!!!
.
Our dear little green soothie has been with Lane since the day he was born...
and has been right by his side ever since! They had a deep bond and Lane hardly ever let it out of his sight!! And even though everything I ever read said to break this bond early, I was just fine with letting me keep his paci around!
.
However with a new little baby on the way, whom if he or she is anything like their big bro will love the paci as well, I figured we needed to get cracking on breaking this little pair up before baby got here!! Ya know just to make sure we had enough time to get it out of his mind so we wouldn't have a paci snatcher on our hands when baby arrives..ha!
.
So last Friday, the 24th, we told Lane the "Paci Fairy", who only visits BIG boys and girls, would be making a stop at our house to collect all his paci's to give to all the babies out there who need them more than he does!! In return for his bravery....the Paci Fairy would leave Lane some toys as a thank you gift!
.
So we made a little bag, went around collecting his paci's and set it out by the fireplace before he went to sleep! And night ONE...no crying, not even a "I need my paci"! We were shocked! No way could it be this easy!!
.

Saturday morning Lane woke up and found some goodies!
He was so excited about his trains, coloring books, and a Handy Mandy house!

That day was the hardest...he had two meltdowns that lasted for about 10 mintues. He would ask for it, but we kinda ignored it and he moved on! Night two and three: he cried for about 3 or 4 minutes and then he was out! Since then he has gone to bed every night with no crying or asking for it! I cna't even remember one time this weekend where he asked for it! During the day at daycare he has been doing great as well and takes his naps without it! So, he has been officially paci free for ten days!! I really can't believe how easy it was for us! I was just sure that this would be the hardest thing ever to do!
.
Lane, mommy and daddy know how much you loved your paci...but we are so proud of you for being such a big boy!!!
