Hey Batter Batter: Lane's 6th Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated our big boy one last time at his birthday party!! We had it at DBAT Batting Cages in Southlake and he loved it!! Because of the invitation we went with, I decided against doing a Ranger themed party and going with the MLB logo! I kept it pretty simple, used mostly stuff from the house, and loved how everything turned out!!

Banner I made, tied onto two baseball bats! I knew I wanted to incorporate those bats since we were having a party at the batting cages!

Close up at the favors, Big League Chew and a Baby Ruth!

The kid tables decor included, MLB confetti, Baby Ruths, and baseball cards!

The cookie cake!

While waiting for all the guests to arrive, the kids just kicked the ball around!

First up was a game of wiffle ball! Here are the two teams!

They also played a game of kick ball. Then it was onto batting! First they all got to hit off a tee!

Then they all got coach tosses!

Then it was time for cake!

The whole gang!

Baseball Brothers!

We opted to open presents at home, so after dinner with the fam, Lane got to open all his gifts!

He had SO much fun at the cages! It was a different party for sure, but totally him! He is so blessed with great friends and family!
(I'm missing one of my boys here....after going all day long with no nap, then playing his little heart out at the party, he was passed out on the couch at this point!)

{30 Book Challenge} 6th Book Review

My 6th book  is Divergent! I finally went back to my YA "roots"! It's been a long while since I've read a YA book. I'm very late to the Divergent bandwagon, but I will say it didn't disappoint!

Just like we saw in Hunger Games, this novel is set in a dystopian society! Chicago to be exact. There is something that just draws you to these worlds and you can't stop reading. The city is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a particular virtue it values.
.
Before reading it I hadn't really heard a lot about it and hadn't even seen the trailer for it, so aside from the actress playing Tris, I had not a clue who else was in the movie! It was hard not looking, but immediately after I finished today, I jumped online and looked at all the actors in the movie, and watched the trailer! And now I NEED to see the movie asap! It looks like they did a good job, we will see!!
.
I give it 5 stars! If your'e a fan of YA and of dystopian societies, then definitely read this book! Now onto book 2, Insurgent!

HAPPY READING!!!

SIX.

My sweet little boy turned SIX yesterday!! It's gone by so fast!! I vividly remember laying in my hospital bed, epidural in, feeling good, watching the Hills finale, waiting to enter a whole new life as mommy!
.
Ever since that day, or very early morning I should say, I have watched this precious little boy grow and learn and change! I am so proud of who he is and who he is becoming!
.
We started off his big day with presents and his favorite donuts!

Grammie had sent her gifts for Lane, so we set those out for him as well!

Singing to the birthday boy!

He opened gifts while eating! More NASCARS of course!

Grammie sent Levi a little something to open as well, he loved it!!

And a quick little photo shoot before we were off to school!

The birthday boy had a special McDonald's lunch request, so Levi and I took him lunch!

Levi thinks he is big stuff at the "big school"!

Along with lunch, I took a cookie cake to celebrate with his class!! The best group shot I got!

That evening we met family at Chuck E Cheese to continue celebrating! It's kinda become a yearly thing!

His annual horse birthday pic! I swear I'm going to be dragging him up there when he's 18 for this picture!

Aunt Terry made a yummy brownie/cookie cake!

He felt like giving hugs while we were singing. Hugs for daddy...

Hugs for Levi...

Hugs for Kelly!

And got a few gifts too!

We had such a great day celebrating our big SIX year old!!

And for a look down memory lane....SO SO crazy how he's grown!!

Happy Birthday Lane!! We love you to pieces!!
