Birthday Fun

Yesterday I celebrated my 26th birthday! Another year gone by already! What made it better was that my good friend from college, Arlette and her boyfriend, got to come up! I haven't seen her in a long time. It started on Saturday night when we went out to downtown Ft. Worth for some yummy food at P.F. Changs.....then we went for some drinks then ended the night at Pete's, which always guarantees a good time!

Then on Sunday we went to get some famous Sprinkles cupcakes! I have been wanting to go for awhile now, so we went and it was definitely worth the drive over to Dallas! They are very yummy!!


It was a great weekend and I am so glad Arlette got a chance to come up and meet Lane! This was a great year....I just wish time would slow down a little!!

3 Months and Growing Fast!!

My sweet little boy is three months today!!!! He is such a happy boy... and his personality is coming through loud and clear! He will definitely let you know when he is hungry....it seems like he is starving and he just cannot wait!! He is pretty much sleeping through the night, every night, now...yea for mommy and daddy! He loves to play, be held and go for walks! I've already had to start packing away some of his clothes...which is sad...he was so little for such a short amount of time! Lane has also found his hands....they are either in his mouth now or he holds his hands in his lap..it is so cute!

One of a Kind Dad

Today Paul got to celebrate his first Father's Day. I always knew Paul would be a good dad, and ever since Lane has arrived, he has gone above and beyond! I can not imagine doing this without him. I can't wait to watch Paul and Lane's relationship develop as Lane gets older.

So here is to Paul...Happy Father's Day...I love you very much !! And to all the other daddy's out there, I hope you had a great one!

Doctor Visit

Today I took Lane for his two month check-up. He is two weeks over...when I went for his one month I did not schedule it then, and when I called, our doctor was booked until now!! Lesson learned... always book next appointment while there!!

Anyway...here are Lane's two month stats:

Weight: 12 lbs. 12 oz.

Length: 23 3/4 in.

Head: 16 1/2

He is in the 75% percentile across the board which means he is on the right track!

Lane got four shots today and completley lost it!! I'm not kidding, he was so upset. It took me a good 10-15 minutes to calm him down! I felt so bad for him. When we got home he slept pretty much the rest of the day! And when he has been up he has been fussy. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Week Wrap-Up

First off, sorry for the lack of posting...I have been busy with school. I am happy to say that I am done for the summer! It was good to get back for the short amount of time, but I am definitely ready to spend every day with Lane again!

This past week Lane experienced a couple firsts! Uncle Andy graduated this week so Paul headed down to Victoria with Lane and without me!! Yes, I had to spend the first nights away from little man! Paul said he did awesome on the trip and got so much lovin' from everyone! And I know it was much harder on me than Lane! He also spent his first night in a hotel! He stayed with aunt Holly and cousin Coen! So, first long road trip in the books...and I must brag on my hubby for a moment...He is such an awesome dad..to take a two month old, six hours away...by himself!! He is so great and I am just lucky to have such an amazing husband!

We decided to try the Bebe Pod out...we didn't know if Lane would be able to sit in it but we tried it and he did! He was so funny....it came with a toy and Lane actually grabbed the toy and was playing it! He is growing like a weed!

I just love the top pic. We put his little UT hat on him! So cute. We also have been having paci wars!! We have been trying to switch out the paci's that Lane uses...but Lane is pretty adament that he only likes this one...the huge circle green thing that the hospital uses!! I can switch them for about two minutes then he spits it right out. So much for all the cute paci's that I got....I guess we will live with this one!

I will be better about posting from now on. I want to say HAPPY GRADUATION to ANDY!!! He is on to the Marines and I know he will do great!

2 Months Old!!

I know I am a day late but Lane was two months yesterday!! We were out of town and did not have a way to upload pics. We headed down to Waco for the weekend. I decided to take Lane for a dip in the pool...literally a dip...his feet were the only part of his body in the water! And boy did he HATE it...he cried and then it turned into a scream for a good 20 minutes!! He did not like that cold water...but he sure did look so cute in his bathing suit!

So Lane is two months...I can't believe it! Every day he is changing and doing something different. Right now he is starting to sleep about 5-6 hours a night...not every single night, but about 3-4 nights a week! He is smiling all the time, which is adorable. His eyes are getting stronger and he is able to follow you with his eyes. He loves to stand up on your lap! He is a very "active " baby...he likes to be moving and playing...I think he gets that from his daddy!! Last time I weighed him he was 11 lbs!! I can't wait to see him change more.

Blast from the Past!

So once upon a time I was crazy over a little boy band named New Kids on the Block. I'm talking very crazy! I had everything ever made with their name on it. My room was like a museum to them complete with the bedspread, dolls, posters,and much more! So you can imagine my reaction when there they were, back together, singing on the Today show this morning! I got to say it was so funny and weird to see this group of boys, now grown men, whom I was obssessed with on tv getting ready for their "comeback". A flood of memories from childhood came racing back when they were singing and dancing to "The Right Stuff" and "Hanging Tough", songs that my friends and I sang and danced to!!! What was even funnier was the crowd....no little girls this time...but girls my age!! All their old fans...grown up...back again!!

So in honor of this "comeback" I thought it only appropriate to visit the time when I was a teeny bopper in love with the New Kids!! I did some digging while Lane was napping and have included pictures of the time when I thought life just couldn't get any better....I was going to see them in concert! Oh yes, my mom and two other loving mothers stood in line and got their daughters everything they ever wanted (at the time of course!) And to top it off, got us a limo for the wonderful occassion! So take a look, have a laugh, and remember the time when you were crazy over a boy band!!!

Mother's Day

Wow, I can't believe that I actually celebrated Mother's Day as a mom! Sometimes I still can't believe that I am a mom. I look at Lane and realize how blessed I am! I have a precious son and an amazing husband. Paul made my first mother's day very special, love you babe! It was a great day and I can't wait to celebrate many more!
