Run Lane Run!

A couple weeks ago Lane finally had his fun run. It was supposed to be outside, but with the constant weather, it had to be held inside. It was still neat, but outside was definitely better!

Levi was ready to cheer on his brother!! Racing flags and all!!

He ended up running 54 laps!!

So fun cheering on our big boy!!

Snowy Fun

North Texas was hit with another round of snow....

 and the boys loved it!

We did a little baking!

and of course they LOVE when daddy is home!

Saturday night, since we were all kinda still stuck inside, I though it would be fun to have a neighborhood game night! So everyone trekked over to our house, kids, games, and plenty of booze in tow and we had so much fun!!! We had a guy game table and a girls game table going and the kids just played their little hearts out upstairs!! Such a fun night!

Then on Sunday it was good to get out and we actually had a birthday party that afternoon!

It was fun while it lasted, but I'm glad to see this winter weather go!!

Reading Challenge: Month 2

Last year I tried blogging every book I read, and while I kept it up for a little bit, I eventually stopped. So this year I thought I would do a review at the end of each month talking about the books I read that month! This year my goal is 25 books!.
.
So what did I read in February!?!
.
February brought books 3-6! FOUR books this past month, it may seem like alot but our Mexico trip really aided in that! I can put down some serious books on a plane and a beach!

The Girl on the Train.....This book has been everywhere and has been dubbed the next Gone Girl. So I picked it up at Costco and read it quickly because of the way it was written. It was definitely a suspenseful read. Not near as crazy or gruesome as Gone Girl but good with a nice twist at the end!!

The Shock of the Fall....I picked this one up on a whim at Target based on the summary.  It deals with brothers, mental illness, and a tragic death. The narrator is a 19 year old boy with mental illness, so the way its written is fast and jumpy, which makes it hard to get into but its interesting to think that that is exactly how a mind of that nature works. Interesting story, not for everyone, not sure that I would recommend it to all.

We were liars....Read this day one of our trip. It was on almost every YA Books of the Year for 2014 and I had it on my "to read" list all last year, but for whatever reason never got to it.  Our of the group, my favorite hand down. It tells the story of the very wealthy Sinclair family though the eyes of teens...each summer they escape to their own island  and the story focuses on one particular summer. It's so so good!! I love YA novels, but this one I think anyone could enjoy!
.
The Vacationers....I also read this one on the trip. The cover, the title, the summary...all made it a perfect pick for the beach! Again, it follows a family, the Posts, who escape off to an island for this one summer, and all the drama that ensues! It was good, not great, but worth the read!
.
Six down at the start of the third month, not bad!! If you have read any of these, please leave me your thoughts!!! The only thing better than reading the actual books is when you can talk about them, right!?!
.
HAPPY READING FRIENDS!!!

Show & Tell: Favorite Room

Hey there friends! Today I am linking up with Andrea at Momfessionals for Show and Tell Tuesday! Today features our favorite rooms, and after thinking a bit I chose my kitchen. It's somewhere that we gather daily, and I am in it so much!! I really wanted to show and tell about the boys' new shared bedroom, but I need a couple more things done and then I will share!
.

So, here is my favorite room...my kitchen!

I love how it overlooks our living room! I love how when we have family gatherings or parties, everyone gathers around the island! It's perfect for entertaining! We hand picked out everything in it when we built and it just makes me smile every time I walk in the door!

One of my favorite pics of the boys...

My coffee corner and my little "catch all" corner hidden behind the fridge! Usually we aren't sporting everything here, but we still seem to be holding on to Valentine candy and boxes!

So there it is! And can I say that I love browsing and seeing all of y'alls rooms too! Love getting ideas! Bedroom pics coming soon!!

Ice Days!

Last weekend was super low key...games were cancelled, no practices, and lots of at home time! Then late Sunday night we got a good amount of ice which made schools shut down for two days! Also we have had every practice,game/tournament for this week and weekend cancelled, so it's been a nice change of pace this week. Every once in a while these types of weeks are good to have.....it keeps us indoors, with one another, and just gives us time to slow down!
.
Anyway, with the ice storm came a day off for daddy which meant lots of outside ice fun!! Our neighbor had a for real sled and they kids had a blast! It was a bit too cold for Levi so he didn't last long!

We also had fun indoors....lots of bubble baths!

Lots of ipad playing...

A little keyboard practicing on my computer...

Lots of game playing

Paul whooped me in Scrabble!

After two days inside, we braved the roads and met up with our favorite girls for some lunch and play time!!

It was back to school Wednesday, but it was a good "break"!

{Filled with Love} Valentines 2015

We have had an amazing past week and a half.  This is our first day since being back that we have NOTHING on the agenda and we can just relax at home and unwind! Mexico was great as always, and then we came home and had a great weekend with the boys, grammie, and great friends celebrating Valentines!
.
Unfortunately I missed Levi's school party last Thursday, but my mom filled in for me and Levi loved having her there! Mom snapped these for me!

We got home late Thursday night, right in time for Friday's fun! First up was grandparents breakfast. I loved that it fell on the week mom was here!

Later that afternoon we headed back up to school for Lane's party!

Valentines morning started off with some donuts and vday goodies!!

While the boys went to Waco with mom to visit family, Paul and I had plans of our own! We went on a Wine Tour with our good friends and had the best night!

I had a great Valentines and a great weekend. After being here for over a week, Grammie had to fly home yesterday, but I'm so thankful she got to come. I hope you all had a great Valentines as well!!
