{Scenes from Summer} Vol. 3

Hello Blog World!!!
I'm finally getting back to this little blog of mine! We are home from one amazing trip to New York, which those posts will be coming soon, and after a week with family, I am able to sit down and blog!!!
.
So I'm taking you back about two weeks before we left on our tip!!
.
We all loved cheering on our Women's team during the World Cup!!

This year Gateway added a junior VBS for 4 and 5 year olds, so Levi was super excited it was his turn!!

A CFA meet up with our friends who moved to OK.

Right about this time my sister came in town to watch the boys for us! We had a free weekend before we left, so we hit up Frisco Fire Safety Town! Have you ever been there!?!?! I've heard about it but never gone, and oh my...this place was precious!! It's a whole little town set up with roads, stoplights, buildings, drive-thrus, a toll,  I mean adorable! And the kids get to drive power wheels and ride bicycles through it!! SO fun! The boys had a blast and did not want to leave!!

You can also explore a real fire truck...

And learn how to jump out of a window during a fire...

I can't believe that we are almost to August! This summer is flying by!! I need to get busy with school supply shopping and all that fun stuff!! NYC posts will be coming soon!!!
Happy Wednesday!!!

Fourth Fun

Gotta love long weekends, and a holiday weekend at that! We started off our celebrating by watching the Roanoke firework show in our neighborhood!

One truck, lots of kids!

Saturday we headed to Arlington to hang with the family! We spent the whole day by or in the pool! Sadly this was the only pic I snapped of us girls!

That night we headed over to the ballpark for fireworks, sadly they didn't go off until almost midnight!!! It was crazy and by the time they started this is what my crew looked like....

We had a fun weekend! We are exactly ONE week from our NYC trip and I am getting so excited!!! We have a fun week of Levi's first ever VBS and Lane is starting Performance Course at the high school! Then off to Waco on Friday for a family wide graduation celebration pool party, then back home to back and get ready to leave!! Happy Monday!!!

{Reading Challenge} Month 6

I can't believe it's July already!!! Where is summer going!?!?!
.
Anyway another month of reading gone...I had high hopes of reading more than two books, but between the boys, swimming everyday, and of course the new puppy, it didn't happen!
.
So, here's what I read this month....

#14....Off the Page....It's no secret that I love all things Jodi Picoult! Last year maybe, she co-wrote a YA novel with her daughter, which I sadly did not read. And this year they wrote another one, Off the Page. I picked it up at Costco, not knowing it's kinda like a sequel to the first, but I figured out what was going on pretty quick! It's part fantasy part real life....characters literally come out of a story in the today's world. It was cute, definitely YA, and a sweet story.
.
#15....In the Unlikely Event....Who knew Judy Blume wrote adult novels!?! I didn't until several years ago when my book club read Summer Sisters. It was SO good and we all loved it! So when word came out that her second adult novel was coming out this year, I was ready to read it! It takes place in the 50's, when three plane crashes happen in NY and weaves several people's lives together. It was really good, highly recommend!!
