A Backyard Baseball Birthday Bash: The Decor

On Sunday we had Levi's party! It was a gorgeous day for an outside party! We had it at our house and everything turned out awesome!! Picking the theme for his party was a no brainer! This child is a baseball fanatic, like his brother! All he ever wants to do is swing a bat or throw a ball! So once the theme was settled it was time to get the ball rolling, ha!
.
Due to the insane amount of pictures, I've broken the party into two posts: the decor & set-up, and the actual party pics!
.
It all started with the invite! I made all the printables for the party, including the invite, and I love how they turned out!

I knew I wanted a baseball themed wreath, and I thought I wanted baseballs, but last minute browsing at Hobby Lobby changed my mind, and I wound up with this!! I loved the red striped burlap and couldn't pass it up!!

On their way to the backyard, party guests made a stop at the autograph station! I love this little keepsake for his room!

The mantel! I borrowed Lane's bat and some baseballs and we were good to go!

This was the cake table!

I have had this frame above Levi's changing table since he was born, so I just swapped out the pictures and added the invite!

Gotta have these at a baseball party!

This was the snack/favor table!

All the adults left with a box of Cracker Jacks!

Had to have some subway art!

All the kids left with personalized plastic bats and balls! Thank you Dollar Tree, ha!

And this was the "Concession" table....otherwise known as the food table! I hadn't put the food out yet, but you get the idea! The baseball lanterns were supposed to be hung, but the wind just wouldn't cooperate, so I  pulled them down last minute and just stuck the somewhere!

I loved the fact that I was able to use so much of our stuff around the house and some of Lane's baseball equipment! It made it super easy to decorate!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Levi

Levi,

Today you are TWO years old!!!
.
I feel like it was just yesterday your daddy and I were in the hospital, watching the Royal Wedding, eagerly anticipating meeting you! You didn't keep us waiting long, and when you made your arrival we were instantly in love!

These two years have been the fastest yet! You have grown so fast! You are our little comedian! You do and say the funniest things!! Speaking of "saying", you talk all the time!! People comment on your talking almost everywhere we go!!

You love Lane! You love to bug him as well! For the most part, you two play very well together! You have to copy him on almost everything! You love to watch him play sports and you have picked them up also!

You love going to school! You haven't cried at drop off in I don't know how long!! Your teacher is Ms. Tia and some of your friends are Olivia, Cullen, Tucker, and Jacob! You can count to 10 and say about the first half of the alphabet! And you love to sing songs and dance!!

You love the Ipad and Iphone! You have watched enough of Lane playing his that you have caught on very quick and you can find exactly what you're looking for, whether it a song or an app!

You LOVE to EAT!!! You will eat almost anything. And you want to eat ALL THE TIME!!! So very different from your brother!! You like to watch Disney Jr. and Nick Jr. Some of your favorite shows are: Imagination Movers, Little Einsteins, Jake, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

You are truly my little stinker!! You keep your daddy and I busy and on our toes! We can be so frustrated one minute, then laughing at you the next! I love you to pieces and wouldn't change a thing about you!!!

I can't wait to watch you grow and learn new stuff!! It's been a fast, fun, wonderful two years little man!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Big Boy!!

Party Pics coming your way!

Texas Women Bloggers: Self-Interview Link Party

I recently joined up with Texas Women Bloggers...all you blogger friends go check it out...and today they are hosting a fun self-interview link party! So here we go....

1. What part of the state do you call home?
I currently live in north Ft. Worth! I've been in the metroplex since graduating college in 2005!
Previously I lived in Waco and loved it there as well!!

2. How long have you been blogging?

I started this blog in 2007, right before I had my first son! I can't believe I've documented six
years of our life on this little blog!

3. Why did you start blogging?

With a baby on the way, and both sets of our parents scattered all around, some out of
state, I wanted a way that our family could "stay in touch" with us and see all those special
baby moments and milestones that happen everyday! I wanted them to feel like they weren't
missing out on the times they couldn't be with us!

4. What do you hope to get out of the Texas Women Bloggers community?
I love to find/read other mom blogs...well any blog in general, but especially mom bloggers!
And I  would love to meet some Texas bloggers!!

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years, I see myself with a ten year old and a seven year old (gasp)! I see weeknight
practices, crazy schedules, weekends spent at tournaments.  Hopefully just living life
   and being happy!

6. If you could choose an actress to play you in your life, who would you choose and
    why?
Jennifer Garner! She is beautiful, a mom, funny, married to Ben Affleck, and she is a
    fellow Texan!

7. Name 5 things on your Bucket List that you hope you’ll check off before you die?

    (1) I dream of going to Chicago!
    (2) Traveling abroad with my boys....preferably London or Spain.
    (3) Ride in a hot air balloon.
    (4) Going to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter...yes I am a bit of a fan!
    (5) Attend an Olympic Sporting Event!

8. If you could be known for one thing, what would it be and why?

Honestly, just being the best mom I can be! If my boys, in 20 years or so, can look back and
say thank you or anything that looks like gratitude, then I've done my job! Let's be real....they
    are boys though!

9. Describe one “wow” moment in your life.

My wedding day! Definitely a "wow" moment... watching your life about to change forever and
knowing you're going to get to spend every day thereafter with your main man!

10. If you could “be” anything (no consequences, no fear), what would you “be”?

Hands down I would be a professional party planner....I love me a good party! Hello Tori
Spelling! I'd love to her her BFF, ha!

There it is...me in 10 questions!! Hope you enjoyed reading!

Start Your Engines!!

There are two weekends a year that my sweet little boy look forward to...and that's race day!! So when Saturday arrived, he was beyond excited! Paul's mom and step-dad had tickets as well. They headed out early, to meet up with more family, for tailgating. Lane had a blast and Paul said he did great all day!

My boys!

While daddy and Lane were having fun, Levi and myself were having fun too! Levi got to go to his very first "friend" birthday party! His lil friend, Olivia, had her second birthday at Little Gym! Levi had a blast, and it was so cute to watch him on all the gym equipment!

Changing gears....Lane's class is studying transportation and each student had to make a poster over their favorite transportation! Well it was no shock when Lane said his favorite was race cars! So that's what we did! It was a family effort....I printed and cut out the letters, daddy picked and printed out the pictures, and Lane drew a couple of race cars and wrote the information! He was so proud of his drawing and the end product!!

His work....My favorite part!

It's Disney Week over at one of my favorite blogs...eighteen25 and I am so excited to see what all they share!! Yesterday they shared a super cute Disney Subway art printable that I will definitely be putting up as our Disney trip gets closer!!
Well, that's it! Have a good one!
