Round One

I have alot of catching up to do. I will start with round number one! Last weekend we packed up and headed down to Houston to have Christmas with Paul's dad and Paul's mom. I was dreading the drive with Lane but he did suprisingly well! We had a great weekend visiting everyone. Lane and Coen played together some! As they get older I'm sure it'll become a little more crazy! Lane got some many fun toys and cute clothes. Here are some pictures from the weekend!
Trying to catch a picture of the two.
"hmm....these look interesting!"
Attempting to open presents!"Wow, a ball popper, cool!""I think I just want to stand on it"Daddy and Lane....this silly bear!Cousin bath time....
"Hey, do I know you?"Looking at my books."Check it out....my first ride....sweet!"

"Look out ...here I come"

Little did we know that that was only the beginning of the toy invasion! I must say that little man is very spoiled!! That was our Houston trip! It was so good to see everyone and visit....especially with Andy, my brother-in-law, who left yesterday for a two year stay in Japan with the Marines.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

And all through the Furr House.......
Ok, I'm not going to go on! The week up to now has been a whirlwind of a week! We have been very busy and have had no time to blog! I do have alot to blog about and I will catch up, but not now! I did though steal away some time tonight to post! This is how we spent our 1st Christmas Eve with Little Lane!
'The stockings were hung from the chimney with care'.
My family is all here so we thought it only appropriate to add the whole gangs'!!
Lane is enjoying a cookie while we were preping the cookie stuff. Very messy, so we ditched the shirt and put on his Christmas bib!

So one of our traditions is to make sugar cookies! We let Lane make his very first Christmas Cookie!!

Making one more!

Now it's time for some sprinkles!

Ta-Da!!! My first cookies!

My sisters' masterpieces!!

This is our Cookie plate for Santa. Lane's candy cane broke in the process but I wanted the actual cookies that Lane made...I know, picky momma! I'm sure Santa won't mind!

This is Santa's letter to Lane on his very special first Christmas!
It was a great Christmas Eve! I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas tomorrow!
P.S. Tomorrow is special for another reason......Lane is 9 months old! Oh my goodness!

Too Much Fun!!

Last year my uncle sent this to us and it was so funny! So I thought that I would do it again, this year Lane gets to be apart of the fun! Paul and I laughed so hard when we were watching this! If you haven't done this before you have to...it's hilarious!! Oh and go turn off my music at the bottom to get the full effect!! Enjoy!

Hi Santa!

Wow, two back to back posts! Very unusual for me! (make sure to read the one below)

Today we took Lane to meet Santa! We went over to Southlake Town Square and their set up was very cute, and even better, No Line! We weren't sure how Lane man would do. The lady put Lane on Santa's lap and he really did not even notice him at first! Then he could sense something was up and started to look around at him. No crying to report, just some staring going on! So his first Santa trip was a success!

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!

Last night Paul had his company Christmas Party! It was at the Gaylord. My second time there this season! We had a great dinner, lots of drinks, then headed over to the Glass Catus to end the night! We had alot of fun and stayed up way past our usual bedtime!

Football, Friends, and Shopping

This post is kind of all over the place! Friday night we spent the night in just doing random things around the house. I love just hanging out with Paul and Lane! Saturday I met up with my family to do some holiday shopping! We went to this fun little indoor craft mall, much like Spice in Waco, in Arlington. I found some cute yard art and my aunt "personalized" it for me! Later that night we went to the Midway-Longview Quarterfinal football game at Texas Stadium! Shout out to the Midway football team! I am a former Midway grad so I thought I would show some Panther Pride and go out to support them! And plus, my cousins are in the Midway system and came up for the game! Unfortunately they lost, but they played a great game and it ended with a very controversial call.

On Sunday, Lane and I met up with Ryan and her little girl, Madelyn...I found Ryan's blog through some mutual friends and turns out we have alot in common! We went to a Christmas craft fair and had fun doing some shopping...which we concluded that we could totally make everything that people were selling!!

All in all it was a good weekend! Paul got our house lights finally working!! Oh and my aunt Terry and nana got Lane his very own little tree! I am still in the process of "decorating" it! So I will post pictures of that later!

9 and a half days to Christmas Break!!

8 Months and growing!

My new favorite picture of Lane....such a sweet face!
I know I am about a week late, but better late than never! Last week was so fast and crazy...but my little man did turn eight months! We have not been to the doctor since six months and we go for his nine month appoinment at the end of this month, so I don't have an accurate weight and height. I'm guessing he is somewhere around 20 lbs. This past month has by far been the most active....he is like his daddy in that he cannot sit still, always has to be doing something! Here are some things my little man is doing now...

1. A great eater- I have not found a food yet that he just simply refuses! He loves all his fruit, espically bannana plum grape! He eats yogurt (for babies), and I have started to try the puffs. He is not real sure what to do with them at first but will eat them. He definitely notices when we are eating food...sometimes one of us will give him some of what we are eating, if its soft!

2. I recently started giving the sippy cup a go! Just to get him introduced to it! It's pretty funny. At first all he does is bit on it. After a while he will actually suck it and drink...but then he goes right back to biting! So with time we will get then hang of it!

3. Pulling up on everything- I've metioned this before! Lane loves to pull himself up on anything...now however, he is starting to get a bit brave and he will at times "let go" of what he is holding onto!

4. He will now follow Paul or I into another room if he sees us walk off!

5. Still only two teeth. He popped those out a while ago and no more since!

6. Can hold his bottle all by himself, which makes me a little sad at times.

7. Loves to laugh!

8. He just got moved up to the infant 2 room at daycare!

So thats my boy right about now! Changing every day, keeping us busy!

This red bird is one of his favorite toys and just yesterday he just decided that he was going to put it in his mouth and then crawl away!

What a week!

Wow, it has been a crazy week! I had no time this past week to blog so I will try to catch up! Our Thanksgiving was good! My sister and her boyfriend were able to come in from Arizona. We had lunch at our house then gathered up with more family that night at my aunts house! We ate and ate and ate! Lane even got a "feast" of his own! Daddy gave him some mashed potatoes and some really good jello stuff that Lane loved!!! There are so many things that I am thankful for this year....heres a few...

1. My Hubby- Paul is my best friend...we have known each other for eight years now. He makes me laugh all the time. He provides for us and he takes care of Lane and I. Lane is so lucky to have Paul as his daddy!

2. My sweet boy- I am so thankful for my precious, healthy baby boy! I don't remember what it was like before him! He amazes me every day with the new things that he does. He is such a happy, curious little boy.

3.My Job & Co-workers- I love teaching and I work in a great school! I work with so many awesome people who make going to work enjoyable!

4. Our Family-I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family! I love you all!

5. Our Home- Our very first home! I love it and I love raising Lane here!.........These are the things that I am grateful for on a daily basis!

Paul went hunting for the weekend, so that left me free to shop! And boy did we! We also went to the Gaylord, went to the Ice exhibit and walked around inside! It is gorgeous inside there. It totally gets you into the Christmas spirit!

We had a great weekend and it went by so fast! Here are some pics from the weekend. Watching football with daddy, waiting to eat some Turkey!
Couldn't hang with us while shopping! (I just want to say that Lane was so good while we totted him around everywhere!)

At the Gaylord, waiting to go through the Ice show! We didn't know the Ice man snuck up on us in this pic!

The whole gang...Cory, Brittany, me, Jared, Lane, & Haley

Me and my sweet boy!

Jared and Lane...best buds!

Lane playing while waiting....he liked to go under the stroller!

Lane's new pj's from aunt Terry! Dr. Suess jammies! So cute!

Lane and his first Build-a-Bear! Mr. Moose A. Moose
(for those of you who watch Noggin)!

I still can't believe that today is December 1st! I hope this month slows down a bit. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
.
Oh yea..one more thing...I have been searching desperately for a Babies First Christmas stocking and I cannot find one I like....does anyone know of a good place for some stockings??? I'm running out of time here!
.
Next up: Lane's 8 month blog...(it's only a couple of days late!)
