Feelin Festive

After seeing some blogs with Christmas decorations, I thought that I needed to begin getting in the spirit as well! Now I know my header does not excately match my background...but oh well! It's just gonna have to stay like that for a while! Tonight Lane and I had a "mini x-mas photo session" which he didn't seem to like after awhile! I love Christmas time and I cannot believe that it's already that time of year!!

This weekend we had some cold temps, so I thought I would get out Lane's winter gear and give it a shot. I love this little hat!
Ready to go!
Tomorrow I am finally seeing Twlight....stay tuned and I will post about it then!!
One and a half days of school left until Thanksgiving Break!!

Twlight Craze!

So the countdown is officially ON!! Three more days until the highly anticipated Twlight movie comes out! Not since Harry Potter (which I also loved very dearly) has there been this much hype about a book series turned movie! Though much of the world has just recently been exposed to the greatness of Twlight I must take you back about three years ago when a friend of mine first introduced our "Book Club" to Twlight!! Yes I am a book nerd and yes I have other friends who love to read as much as I do! At school we started a book club and a friend had recently read the book and after much urging we all finally broke down and read the book. Of course we all fell in love with it and ever since we have been this Twlight loving group! We have discussed together, debated together, and yes, anxiously waited for each new release of the series together! So needless to say, for us, this movie has been a long time coming, and has alot to live up to!!

The neatest thing about our passion...okay obssession ...over this series is that we have caught the interest of the students at our school! Back track with me a minute...last year so many of us teachers and staff were reading the book that we decided to make Twlight shirts! We all wore them on the same days and sure enough it sucked the kids in and they began asking us about this book! Now a year later, and yes the series is now well known, but everywhere you look, a student has one of the books in hand! Our library cannot keep it on the shelf! How amazing is it that we have inspired the students to just pick up the book and then Meyer pulled them in with her awesome story!

This is our group picture of us Twlight fans from last year!

Our school is renting our a local theater for a special movie night just for our group! We have over 70 people coming! However we have to wait until Monday night to see it!
If you haven't read this book....you should!

My favorite thing!!

I've mentioned before how Lane loves his bath! Yesterday daddy had bath duty and I caught this sweet picture of little man anxiously awaiting bathtime! Enjoy!
"Let me in!"
This weekend we've been busy with two baby showers! Congrats to Pam and Tiffany! Yesterdays shower was in Arlington, so seeing how we have lots of eager babysitters there, we took advantage of them and decided to have "Date Night"! We had dinner with our friends Stef and Zack then headed to a movie. Paul wanted to see the new Bond movie so I reluctantly agreed!! It was a fun night with my hubby!

In to everything!!

Yes, Lane is now into everything!! I used to be able to put him on the floor, with all his toys, and do things around the house. But not anymore! He is in to that exploring phase and wants to check out everything! Which means that one of us is always "following" him! He is very smart to, he will crawl to something, for instance the fire place below, then one of us will get him and take him away and before we know it, he is on his way to that exact spot!!! Oh the fun! No, we did not let him crawl in the fireplace!
He can pull himself up on things SO easily!

In other news...the second six weeks is already over..wow this year is flying by! I've been busy this week trying to get grades done!! Eighty something personal narratives to grade...yikes!!

Bring on the weekend!!

New Things

It's Thursday already!? Another week passes by and what a historic week its been! Here in the Furr house, change is also definetely on the horizon! Now I'm sure one day Lane will look back at this and wonder why I am posting pictures of his bottom all over the web, but I can't help it!

Now that Lane is mobile, he is everywhere and into everything that is in his path!! Well in the past couple of days Paul and I have caught him actually trying to "get up"...not exactely standing but sure trying! I caught some pics of him on his hands and trying to lift his bottom in the air. He doesn't make it any farther than that, but I have a feeling we are going to have an early walker on our hands!! "What do I do now?"

So funny!

These books are the first things Lane goes to after being put on the floor!

"HAHA, I got em!"
This is Lane's signature pose...on his side with his hand on his leg!!

First time in a shopping cart sitting like a big boy!!

Happy Halloween!

Happy (late) Halloween!! This has been an extremely busy weekend! It started off on Thursday when my mom came in from North Carolina! She just couldn't miss Lane's first Halloween. I took off on Friday and we spent the afternoon in Southlake eating lunch and doing some shopping! Then it was back home to get ready for trick or treating! Lane was a good sport through some photo sessions....then we put him in his costume, sat out some chairs, and waited for some trick or treaters! Not only was it Lane's first Halloween but it was our first Halloween in our house, so that made it extra special! Here are some pics of Lane in his Halloween outfit! I like the one to the right...eating everything he can!

Then we put him in his costume. My aunt Terry found a Shrek basket, I couldn't believe it! So we took some more pictures then Paul and I took little man around to some of the neighbors on our street, just to say we took him!!

Here is Lane and nana!
Little Shrek!

Saturday was more shopping, my cousin's birthday and then a grueling Texas game that I don't want to talk about!

All in all I think Lane had a great first Halloween! I am so glad that my mom was here for it. We had a busy weekend but a good one!
.
One more thing...Friday night after trick or treating we went to a close resturant to get some dinner. A couple came and sat down right next to us, and to make a long story short, it turned out to be Tony Stewart, the Nascar driver! I would have never recognized him, seeing how I am not a Nascar fan, but Paul did right off the bat! After many stares, and a short conversation with him, Paul got an autograph for Lane. I have to admit it was pretty neat sitting that close to someone like that, however, I was not star struck. Now, maybe if it would have been someone like Tony Romo, it would have been me doing the talking!!
