Giving Thanks: Day 5

Today I am thankful for Lane.
.
There are no words to describe how much I love this little boy. He made me a mommy for the very first time and that is something so special.

He is a kind, smart, funny, tender-hearted, athletic, and polite.

I have been so blessed to be his mommy these four years. I love watching him grow up and accomplish and learn new things.

This age right now...at this very moment, is my favorite. If I could hold him here for awhile I would.
Thank  you Lane for being YOU! I love you!

Giving Thanks: Day 3

Today I am thankful for all the "small things" in my life that make me happy. Life would be a little less enjoyable without them!

Books
Books, and Target, are my happy place. I love reading. Nothing like curling up with a good book...now if I can only transfer that to my boys!

Starbucks
Yes I love me a good Vanilla Latte! Nothing better than walking into a Starbucks!

Mani's and Pedi's
These are so worth every penny! I'm thankful for those rare moments I can get away and let some sweet lady rub my hands and feet, ha! And not to mention the free wine and massaging chair!

Date Nights
So grateful for those times when Paul and I can get away. Last night we got to get away, have dinner, and do some early Christmas shopping!

The small things matter! What small things make you happy??

Thanksgiving Party #1

Yesterday Lane's class had their little Thanksgiving celebration at school. Seeing how I have already missed a ton of days this year, I couldn't take off. However, it is important to Paul and I that one of us always try to be at the boys' parties so Paul was able to get away at lunch and go!
.
This picture was of the boys before school yesterday! Love these shirts from Old Navy!

I left my small camera with Paul under strict orders to take "lots of pictures"! Well...daddy kinda slipped on that one...he only took about five! Oh well...A for effort!
.

 Silly turkey
This is one of Lane's best buds, Dash!
And two of his favorite "girl friends"! Faith, the one on the right, and Lane are always together!
And that's about it for pics! Yep, no class shot, no teacher shot, or them eating shot, ha!!
.
This was the centerpiece that each kid made. I absolutely love what Lane said he was thankful for....
So sweet!!
.
Even though I am out all next week, the boys will be going for a couple of hours on Monday-Wednesday. I usually never send them when I'm off, but I feel like I have a million things I need to get done and having some free time in the mornings will let me! Plus, Wednesday is Levi's little Thanksgiving celebration!
.
Giving thanks day three will come later today...but I am thankful for a whole week off school and date night with the hubs tonight!

Giving Thanks: Day 2

Today I am super thankful for SSA, our boys school.

I don't call it a daycare because it truly isn't! I remember moving to Keller and beginning the search for a daycare. I called several places and their waiting lists were all booked. I was getting a pedicure one day and ran into some lady, and after talking about several places she didn't recommend, she mentioned SS. So that afternoon I called, and after learning that they had ONE opening left for Lane's room for the next year, Paul and I went in for a tour, and we never looked back!
.
We have been there since Lane was about five months old and I can honestly say that it has been the biggest blessing. It is an amazing school. Everything from the teachers, the small feel, to what all they teach...it's just been above and beyond.
.
There is not one teacher there who doesn't know our boys. I know that they are well taken cared for and loved there.
.
I love the fact that Lane was grown up with the same kiddos from the infant room. It's like a little family! And I love all the mommy friends that I have made!
.
And as far as learning...it amazes me how much Lane has learned there!
.
I am so so grateful for this special place!

Giving Thanks: Day 1

I'v been seeing all over Facebook people giving thanks every day of November...and while I had every intention of doing that as well...well...it just didn't happen! (Sidenote: I was supposed to post the yesterday, but forgot to go back and hit publish...oops!)
.

I have so much to be thankful for and wanted to "give thanks" along with everyone else, so since we are a week out from Thanksgiving, I thought I would do "A Week of Giving Thanks".
.
So for Day 1....
Today I am so very thankful for our new home! Paul and I have worked super hard and are fortunate enough to have been able to build this house!! We call it our "forever home" because we plan on this being our home for a very long time!
.
We've been in a little less than a month and already we have made memories here. I can't wait to see all the new memories that will be made in this home!
(I'll be back later today with day two!)

Fun in the Fridge

Last night Lane was asking for something to drink. I looked over and saw this little head in the fridge..Paul went over and saw that Levi was right there with Lane standing in the fridge!! I guess even a fridge is fun to play in!!

A Not So Fun Weekend

A nasty little bug has invaded our house late last week and has been wreaking havoc ever since. Last Thursday night Levi began throwing up, which led to me taking Friday off and making a trip to the doc. He informed us it was the stomach bug and it would have to "run it's course"....uh...those words. So Friday for me was a long, tired, day of cleaning up throw up.
.
Saturday was Lane's last day of his t-ball season. He had a double header. He has loved playing t-ball on the Rangers!

My ballplayer

The lil Rangers!
The rest of Saturday consisted taking care of a cranky baby, diarrhea, and yes.....more throw up!
.
Sunday Paul had scored to tickets to the Nascar race and took Lane. Lane was pumped to say the least. They had great seats and Paul said Lane was in heaven...even though Tony Stewart didn't win.

Silly dudes

What did momma do ALL day Sunday...take care of a cranky baby...this time no throw up...just lots and lots of diarrhea...think along the lines of about 25 diapers...ya...yea me!
.
That evening as the race was finishing and I was watching TV...I felt the knot in my stomch and knew what was coming. It hit me quick and I called Paul to tell him to hurry home....yes I know 100,000 fans trying to exit the speedway and I was telling him to hurry home.
.
About two hours later (and we live about a mile from the speedway), I had gotten sick twice, and Paul called to inform me that Lane had thrown up in his truck and saying he didn't feel good. JOY!
.
So...Monday....me, Lane, and Levi are ALL sick!!! Paul stayed home to take care of all of us!!! Thank goodness he is so awesome!! Not to mention I think he probably did about six loads of laundry.....you know all the towels, blankets, and clothes that had throw up or diarrhea on them...not by me of course!
.
Levi and myself went back to school on Tuesday...and Lane is still trying to shake this nasty little bug that has completly knocked our family off!! Thank the lord Paul has not gotten it!
.
This is what the past six days has looked like....

a whole lot of sleeping, tired, sick little boys! And me too.
.
I am so ready for everyone in this house to be stomach bug FREE!!
