Happy Valentines Day!!

Here are my two precious Valentines!!

(And before I go any further....if you look above...yes, Levi is standing!! All by himself! He just started this last night and he is finding his balance and standing!! I can't believe it...it will only be a matter of time before he takes off and walks!! This is exactly how it was with Lane! Sigh)

This weekend I was busy busy getting everything ready for Lane's party at school today.

I got his class valentine's ready...I used some super cute superhero tags via Pinterest!

I got teacher treats ready!

And finally this morning, the boys woke up and we gave them our Valentine's treats before they left for school!!

I came home to find beautiful pink roses waiting for me...and two gift cards!! One for a mani/pedi and one for a massage...yea me!! As for Paul's gift...I made him "A Year of Fun Dating" book!!

(More on that later)

And right when we got home Lane wanted to show me all his Valentine's from his friends!

For dinner I made this new recipe from Pinterest, and it was very yummy!! Lane loaded up on chocolate and we just relaxed after that!

And b/c this little man is so darn cute and b/c I still can't believe he is standing on his own...a few more pics!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today my man turned the big 3-0!!! Thirty...I can't believe it!! We started off the day with church, then a yummy breakfast. Then we just hung out all day while managing to keep his surprise birthday dinner under wraps! I talked him into going to Uncle Julios in Ft. Worth...when we got there my family was all there waiting on him!

Meet my family!!

I get to be the wife to my amazing husband Paul....

Mommy to these two precious boys...

And a middle school Language Arts teacher to many!

I am in my seventh year of teaching and between that, mommy duties, wife duties, house duties, weekend sports, book club, blogging, hanging out with family and friends and so on...I am one busy gal! But I love our life and wouldn't change it!

I think we all can agree that being a mom period is hard WORK! And alot of work at that!! I love being a momma and it is definitely my number one priority! With that said I do feel that sometimes I have the best of both worlds, I have the best schedule, I get to have adult coversations every day, I have had some great kids over the years, and I hope I am making a difference in some of their lives!

Being a full time working mom for the last four years has taught me alot about balancing my time. Most importantly I have learned that it's not all about the quantity of time you spend with your children it's the quality of time you spend with them...and that's exactly what my husband and I do...we make the most out of our time!!

I would love to make some new working mommy friends or at least find some new blogs to read!! If you live in my area I'd love to hear from you!!

This & That

This is just a catch all post...a couple things I wanted to get down before I forgot! The week before last, Paul and I were approached by the head's of Lane's school about him being moved up to Pre-K. There were two openings in that class and Lane, along with his friend Madelyn, were chosen to move up. We were hesitant at first for a couple of reasons....one they would be the youngest in the class, two the class has been together since August and were already farther along than Lane...and three, we just wanted to make sure he was ready for this jump. So after much thought and encouragement from his teachers, we decided to give it a shot.

So last Monday, Lane had his very first day of Pre-K! I can't believe that he is already here! His first week went great. Every Tuesday and Wednesday night they have homework, so this was something new for us. Lane did great for where he is at with his writing skills. I really just hope that he continues to adjust and enjoy it! We've had no complaints so far so I guess that's a good sign!

His first homework ever!!! Definitely a keepsake for this teacher momma, ha!

I was actually surprised how well he sat and did it....not all at one time mind you, but we got it done!

Moving on....Friday Lane fell on the playground and had a nasty little bruise on his forehead! This pic doesn't give it complete justice!

And over the weekend...this one got his THIRD tooth!!! His top middle tooth finally broke through!!

And today the boys got their first Valentine goodies in the mail!! Thanks Grammie for all the fun stuff! Lane already painted and colored!

That's about it for now! So glad it's half way through the week! This weekend will mark a milestone for someone in our house!! I'll keep ya thinking!! Happy Wednesday ya'll!

A SUPER Dinner

I got wind this weekend of "Super Hero" Night at our Chick-Fil-A for tonight! When I told Lane that he was going to get to wear a costume to CFA he screamed out in excitement...I kid you not!! He has always wanted to wear a costume out in public!! This morning he said he was going to wear Iron Man, but when it was time to change and go....Batman won out!!

We've never been to a CFA family night before and walking in it was pretty hilarious to say the least! I feel bad for normal people showing up to eat...there were kids running around in costume, it was loud, the cow was out walking around....it was definitely quite the scene!!

But all the kids were having a blast and that's all that matters right!?!

And this particular kid thought this was just about the coolest thing ever!!

This one was just along for the ride, ha!

He got to meet the cow too!!

And thought he was pretty funny!

We had a fun little dinner at CFA...Superheros and CFA...a perfect combo for Lane!!

Levi Austin: 9 Months

Today Levi turned 9 months!!! Every day this sweet one is changing...

Levi here are some things going on with you at 9 months:

.You are quickly becoming disinterested with your bottles and your baby food. His new thing is when I'm feeding him baby food he blows it back out at me...and he thinks this is hilarious!

You just recently got a new big boy seat at the table...more on that later!

You LOVE puffs!!! I think this child can eat his weigh in puffs!!

This should have been mentioned in your 8 month post, but your first word (just like your brother) was dada....these two love their daddy! He says it all the time! I'm working on making mama your second!

This past month you were moved into infants 2 at school!! That would be because you have decided that you want to be extremely mobile!! You are pulling up on everything now!

You went to the park for the first time and got to swing for the first time! You loved it!

You are such a precious little boy!! I mean look at your sweet face!! We love you to pieces Levi!!

*Update: Paul took Levi this morning to his 9 month check up...here are his stats:

Weight: 20 lbs 15 oz

Length: 27 in.

In the 50% percentile for both...slowed a bit in growth chart but we were told he is a perfectly healthy boy!!

Brother Barricade

Overall Lane has been and is pretty good about playing with Levi. However, here recently Lane has become very territorial with his Nascars and Cars cars...he wants Levi to have nothing to do with him and hates when Levi pulls up to our coffee table to play. He often tells me things like "Levi wants you to hold him", or "Mommy put Levi to sleep"...anything to get Levi out of the way from getting his cars!

This is something we are working on!

Anyway, this past Saturday the boys were playing on the floor and I was on the couch on the Ipad. I really wasn't paying much attention to what they were doing, however all of the sudden Lane comes walking into the living room holding his rocking chair saying "Look mom I'm strong". I glanced up at him, again not really giving it much thought, until a minute later. I looked up to see why exactly he had brought his rocking chair in the living room...and that's when I noticed this.....

Little stinker had created a barrier to keep Levi from going to the coffee table and getting his cars!!! I just about died!! Before I said a word...I ran to grab my camera and get Paul. Then of course we had a little talk!

Levi didn't seem to notice!

Very clever of him to think of that I must say! Such a mess!

The Boy with the Dragon Tatoo

While at school today, I hopped on Facebook and found some pretty cute pictures from Lane's school. They were having fun learning about and celebrating the Chinese New Year!

I love that our daycare has FB and posts pic of our kids! It's such a nice surprise to log on and get to see pics of them! (And I couldn't resist the play on the title...it fit too perfectly :)

Daddy's New Ride

For awhile now Paul has been wanting a new truck....the main reason was space. His backseat in the Titan was very limited once we added Levi! The middle seat in the back was almost impossible for anyone to sit in and the floor space was slim as well.

The second reason was, well, he just wanted an upgrade! And after weeks of begging me to go look, I finally agreed and we came home with this.....

A 2011 Ford 150! It is soooo nice!! And the space in the backseat is insane! Lane can hold his arm out toward me and I can hold my arm out toward him from the front seat and we cannot touch! And there is plenty of room for someone else to ride along in the back! Paul's in love!

And Lane loves it because it's his favorite color!

Big Boys

These boys are growing up way too fast!! Seriously...these two are doing new things daily!!

.Last night while grocery shopping I decided to pick up these bad boys for Mister Levi!

He loves him some puffs...and he also loves to put anything and everything in his mouth right now, so I thought it was time to give him something new to "chew" on!

And, just like I thought he would....

he LOVED them!!

And Lane...well he has been learning so much this year at school...even how to write his name!! He has been doing it for about two months now...and he loves to write it!!! He can also spell it out!

During bath tonight, he got down the crayons and decided to "color" the tub! I asked him what he wrote and he told me he wrote "Vector" from Despicable Me...he loves that movie right now...anyway I died laughing when he said that! So since he was making a mess, I told him to write his name for me on the wall...and he was happy to do so!

Not bad huh!?

Back in late October we had some family pictures taken. I didn't want to post them at the time b/c we were using some for our Christmas card...and well I never did post them after, so I thought I should now! We had them done by Kendall Stoy. She is an excellent photographer! They were shot at outside at the canals of Los Colinas. They turned out so good! She got some seriously sweet ones of the boys!

Levi Austin: 8 Months

On the 29th Levi turned EIGHT months!! Crazy!

He is still cuter than ever and such an easy going boy!!

Some new things this month...

1. Got his first ear infection....not fun.

5. Started eating Puffs! You were hesitant at first but now you love them!

6. And most recently you have started pulling up on everything...the couch, the tv stand, the coffee table...and your crib!!! Which made us have to lower your crib! I can't believe you're already doing this!

I got a super cute camera strap from daddy as well!! Love it!

After a long morning of hard playing...this sweet one was all tuckered out!!

We had a wonderful Christmas morning with the boys and Paul's family! That afternoon we packed up and headed to Waco for Christmas with my family....that's next up!

We woke up on Christmas Eve and just relaxed and enjoyed our morning together! Around three we headed to the Gaylord, where we were meeting up with Paul's mom and stepdad!

Two nights ago our Elf, Bernard, brought a special surprise straight from the North Pole...

So last night we followed the instructions and planted our seeds in a bowl full of sugar!

Today we are going to go to the Gaylord!! I love that place at Christmas time!! Then it's back home to make sugar cookies and get ready for tomorrow!! Happy Christmas Eve everyone!!

X-Mas Lights and a Little Artwork

Last night we loaded up and drove right up the road to drive through the Texas Motor Speedway to look at their Christmas light display!! I saw this on the news and knew that Lane would love it! This was their first year doing it there and it was pretty good.

Lane spotted this TMS logo and was so excited! He didn't understand why there wasn't a race going on!

He loved the lit up race cars...how cute are they!!?

And he was super excited about sitting in the front seat with mommy!

You actually drove through the inside of the stadium...right under the seats..pretty neat.

Next year we will know to bring along some snacks, seeing how there was so many people there and it took awhile to even get it!

If you follow me on FB than you already know this...but earlier this week I stayed home with Levi to take him to the doc...and when I went to get Lane early at school, I walked right in the middle of paint time and Lane told me to come back later!!! No lie!!

Anyway he has been brining home so much precious Christmas artwork..! I didn't want to just put them up right now, so I decided to hang them on our pantry door! He was so proud!! Lots of hand and foot prints!!

My favorite it the thumbprint string of lights!! He was so excited to tell me that he used my favorite color pink!! And if you look there is one litle pink thumbprint!!

The North Pole Express

Tuesday night we headed to Grapevine to ride the North Pole Express!! We did this last year and Lane loved it, and this year he was so excited about going! It was just the four of us this year, and we happened to pick a freezing cold night!! Luckily, we got there right as they were letting people in for the show, so we didn't have to wait outside long!

With a week left until Christmas, it was time to write our official letter to Santa...so last night we did just that! I scribed for Lane...I asked him what he wanted and he said a Nascar track and a blue car! And since Levi is too small we wrote his for him....I asked Lane what Santa should bring Levi and he said a music toy and a ball!

Lane has been able to write his name for a couple of weeks now!! He is doing so good with it!!

So he got to sign his letter all by himself...take a look! Pretty good huh!!

All About Cousins

This past weekend was CRAZY!! And our theme for the weekend was cousins!!

It started Friday night...Paul and I both rushed home, grabbed the boys and ALL of our bags, and headed to Arlington to watch my cousin Zach play in the state 4A championship!! He plays for Midway, which also happens to be my high school, so it's always a little extra special to go to his games! They were playing Lake Travis, who has won the state title the past 4 years...yes 4...and although we thought Midway could pull it out, LT snagged its' 5th straight title...crazy!

Even though they lost, it was a fun night...

Zach got pulled up on Varsity for the playoffs...and he got to go in!!

After the game, around 11:00 or so, we, along with my Aunt Angie, headed out to East Texas for my other cousin, Amanda's graduation from SFA!!! We got to Henderson around 2:45ish, spent the night, then woke up around 5:45 to make it to Nacogdoches by 9:30! Don't ask why graduation had to be so early!!

Getting her diploma...she got her degree in Elementary Education....adding to the list of teachers in the family!

But we sure do have one excited little boy who can't wait!!

A Night of Favorite Things

This past Saturday night I hosted a Favorite Things Party with some of my Favorite girls! I originally saw the idea on none other than Pinterest and knew it looked like lots of fun!

Seeing Santa

This morning we headed to Sundance Square to see Santa!! Lane was super excited. And I have to include this little tid-bit for my memories sake...on the way there Lane randomly said that he wanted a puppy for Christmas!?!? Um...What?? Where did that come from!! We told him that Santa doesn't do live animals, ha!!

Anyway we got there right at 10:45 and had a short wait in the cold. Both boys did awesome! No tears where shed by Levi, not shocking, and he even gave us a smile!!

After I told Lane that he could not ask Santa for a puppy, he asked for a Nascar track and asked for toys for Levi.

Although I wasn't overly impressed with Santa himself...the set-up was very cute, and we only had to pay $7 for a pic...score!!!

24 Nights of Christmas Books

Other than the open-the-flap-grab-some chocloate advent calendars you can find at Michaels' or Target, I've never really done an advent for Christmas. So when I came across a super cute idea for one on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to do it this year!

The idea is to wrap 24 books, I choose all Christmas books, and each night Lane will get to unwrap one and we will read it before bedtime. I loved this particular one because Lane loves books right now, and hey it's better than alot of candy right!

So last Thursday night I put all the books under his litle tree, ready to go! He was pretty excited seeing them all! Once I explained what we were doing and how he couldn't open them all right then, he was excited. Every day he asks when he can open a book!

It's been busy around here so these pics are from tonight...Bernard wanted to join us and listen to the story too!

He picked one and is ready to open!

On a sidenote, while driving home today, Lane informed me that when Santa comes to his house, he will wake up and show him his toys!! So cute!

Levi Austin: 7 Months

Sweet Levi, you are 7 Months!!!

Not much has changed from last month....

you are still my happy little boy!!

This was in the middle of his excited face!

Two main things have recently occurred that I want to remember...

1. You just started crawling!! Almost exactly when your big bro did!!

If you follow him as far as walking...you will be walking in 2 1/2 months!! Crazy!!

2. Your first tooth finally broke through!!

North Pole Breakfast

This past Sunday we had our first ever North Pole Breakfast !!!

The idea came from Pinterest of course!!

We welcomed Bernard, our Elf, to our house for the Christmas season!

He arrived bright and early, bringing breakfast....

leaving letters to the boys....

and we enjoyed "snow covered donuts"!!

He also brought Lane some x-mas socks to keep his little toes nice and warm!!

then daddy read the Elf on the Shelf book while Lane ate!!

Levi didn't really have a clue, he did however get his fun plate for next year!

Lane was SUPER excited to see him!!

The Elf on the Shelf is such a fun tradition!! And now Lane is at the perfect age to really play along!! We had such a fun morning and love our new little family Christmas tradition!!

Thanksgiving Recap

What a week!! It went by so fast, and I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow...I've enjoyed my week off way too much!!

. Like I said we spent Thanksgiving in Victoria this year. It was a relaxing couple of days...and we all enjoyed ourselves! We spent lots of time hanging out...Lane played up a storm....Levi began crawling...and we all ate alot!!.

We had a great time away!! Paul, Rhonda, Holly and myself partook in some Black Friday shopping!! I've done it for the last 3 or 4 years and I love it for some reason!!

We made it home yesterday evening and got all unpacked. This early morning we awoke and had our first ever North Pole Breakfast (post on that to come!), then spent the remainder of the morning putting up our tree and decorating the inside of the house!! Gotta love this time of year!!

Paul and I are enjoying Turkey Day in Victoria this year. What a year it's been! We are so thankful for everything we've been given!

Especially these two....

And for all of our friends and family who love us and are always there for us....we are super lucky!!

On a totally different note....today is kinda special for a different reason...a dear tradition is coming to an end tonight. The last Thanksgiving day game in the UT-A&M rivalry will be played tonight. So everyone put your Horns up and hope we can go out with a bang!!

What did we ever do before Pinterest?!?! I don't know but what I do know is that I love it and have found so many cute things, good ideas, yummy foods, and much more!! It's one thing to find it...it's another to bring some of it to life! So aside from yummy new recipes that I've made, I decided to make some cute little crafts that I have found!!

The boys bathroom is monsters, so when I saw this I loved it and knew I wanted to get it. So I clicked in to order it, and they were charging $30 for both prints! WHAT!?! No way! So I just bought the monster clip art for $3.00 and made it myself!!

I can't wait to make some of my Christmas crafts!!

In other news, we have have been nursing a certain little baby through cutting his first tooth AND a double pink eye infection! Not fun! I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner!!! I am so ready for a week long break, and I am so very ready for Christmas season to get here! I am itching to start decorating the casa!!

A Trip to the Speedway

Race Day finally got here this past Sunday!! Lane woke up SO excited! He could hardly wait to go. We got out there about 10:30 and the weather was pretty cloudy, but not hot at all.

We got a great spot to watch all the cars being pushed out to pit road! Lane was glued to the fence watching as each car passed by! He would shout out the drivers name of each car! These guys next to us couldn't believe that a three year old was spouting all this out!!

We sat in turn 4 and had a great view of the entire track!! My favorite part was definitely the beginning, when they took a couple of laps then took off! The loudness was crazy!! But it was so fun! Lane did awesome the whole race!!

When Lane was just a baby (7 months) we were eating at Christina's in Trophy Club, the night before a race. All the sudden Paul goes oh my goodness I think that is Tony Stewart sitting next to us. Well at the time I had NO clue who he was...nor did I really care, ha! But Paul did. So he googled him, showed me a pic to compare, and I was like yea I think that's him! So after some hush talking and many peeks towards his table, Paul leaned over and struck up a small conversation and got an autograph for Lane!!

So how ironic is it that at Lane's very first Nascar race...Tony Stewart won it!! Too neat!!

Anyway we all had a great time and I definitely would go back again!!

Last Game of the Season

Yesterday morning we woke up bright and early for Lane's last game of the season! He loves soccer and has loved playing this Fall! He knew every Thursday when I picked him up from school that he had practice, and every Saturday he was ready to play! Lane made some sweet little friends...and overall we've had a great little season!!

I took off the Thursday two weeks ago to hang out with my family! We decided to go to the pumpkin patch! Since it was a week day, Paul couldn't go with us. It was also weird going on a weekday compared to a weekend. It definitely wasn't as crowded, but none on the vendors were there, no trains were running...so it just didn't have the same feel to it! Lane didn't care though!

We went to Boo at the Zoo again this year!! They changed it to daytime instead of at night ( I like night better).

One of the things I love about Boo at the Zoo is that kids dress up, and I love seeing all the precious little costumes!

Fright Fest

While my sister was here, we took the boys to Fright Fest at Six Flags! They had alot of fun!

Here are all the kiddos...Jared, Lane, Brody, Haley, and Levi

Lane rode these spinning tea cups for the first time. Jared usually rides some of the kiddie rides with him, but they wouldn't let him on this on! So Lane just went right on in with some other boys...I was a little nervous that they would spin in fast...but they didn't and Lane loved it! He looked so big riding it all by himself!

Never Say Never

For as long as I can remember, I have never ever liked Nascar. I've always mocked it...thought it wasn't a sport..and just down right hated it! I've always said that it's just a bunch of cars driving in a circle, and no way I would ever go to a race. EVER!!!

Well....guess where I am going Sunday....

yep to a Nascar race!!

Never say never huh!?!?

So what changed....well it's simple...my sweet Lane...who is a NASCAR freak at this point in his little life!! He knows the name and number of every driver. Can look at a car and tell you whose it is. Knows what cautions are, knows when drivers are racing with different cars, and all about what goes on at pit road!!

I tell ya..he is very into it! Paul took him to a NationWide Race last year, and knew this year he wanted to get tics to the Sprint Cup Race.. (look at me...I'm even talking Nascar lingo!) Paul asked if I wanted to go, and even though I never thought I would say yes, I did! There will be nothing better than seeing his sweet little face on Sunday...and how could I miss that!!

And not only did Paul get race tickets...he splurged and got Pit Passes for all of us!! He will say for Lane...but I know he secretly wanted them to ;)

So hopefully Lane will get to see and meet some of his favorite drivers...and I'll be keeping my eyes out for Mr. Jimmie Johnson ;)

Tonight was another fun filled Halloween! Lane was over the top excited about trick-or-treating this year!!! In part because he has been so excited about wearing his costume!!

And Levi had his first Halloween!! He enjoyed trick-or-treating from the comfort of his stroller! He loved it...just sat and watched!

.When Lane told me he wanted to be Batman this Halloween, I knew exactly what Levi would be...I mean there will be a time when I can't really have my say with both boys!!

Levi Austin: Six Months

SIX MONTHS!!!

Oh my goodness time has flown....half way to a year already!!

I think you have changed the most this month!

*You have definitely mastered rolling. We will put you down and you will just roll all around.

*You have also just recently started sitting up by yourself. You have pretty good control and only fall over if your trying to reach for something!

*Speaking of reaching for things....you reach for everything!!! And everything goes straight to your mouth.

*When on your tummy, you are actually trying to "scoot"...you pull up your legs and get on all fours and try to crawl....I think it won't be long!

*You are eating soilds. You have had all of them so far.

* You are wearing...depending on the brand...6-12 month clothes!! You are definitely my big boy!

*You just had your first cough/cold.

*You sleep through the night.

*You love to laugh and smile!

You are such a good baby!! I can't believe you are six months old. I need time to slow down!

A Fun Filled Visit

Wow....what a busy weekend we had! We spent the last few days of my mom and sisters' visit having lots of fun! They all left on Monday morning and since then we have all been trying to get back in routine! With both boys being out of daycare for almost two weeks....mommy and daddy have gotten spoiled with not having quite so crazy mornings!! So we are getting back to normal around here....we've had a ton of laundry...no food in the house (until yesterday...thanks to my hubby)...a sick baby...a book club book I'm trying to finish...and world series games that have kept us from doing much of anything at nights, ha!!

But the boys had a blast with Grammie, Aunt Brittany, and Brody boy and we were sad to see them go!! I have so much to blog about in the next couple of days, but for now I will leave you with random pics of the boys from their visit...these are mostly from my sister's camera of the three amigos during the days!!

Pumpkin Fun

We are in full swing Halloween mode around here! Decorations are out, costumes bought, and candy is filling all our candy bowls!! Lane is obsessed with his costume...he asks to wear it every.single.day...no lie!! It's very cute but annoying at the same time, ha!

Anyway, we have pumpkins everywhere around here!!
Robin made these awesome carved pumpkins for the boys! They are precious!!!

Especially when lit up! Levi got his name pumpkin and each big boy got one to go with their costumes!!!

And I picked up these fun little pumpkin push-ins at Target....I thought Lane would like them and be something fun! They are too cute!!

A Fun Filled Day

This past Sunday my mom, sister, and nephew Brody came in town to visit with us for awhile!! Lane and Levi are getting to enjoy time off from daycare and Lane and Brody are playing up a storm!

Monday we had off of school so we decided to take advantage of the day and go have fun! And we did! We started off at Lego Land. This was our first time to go and Lane was super excited!! It is definitely over-priced but Lane loved it!

They let people in in groups and you go into this small room, where a guy does a little spill about Lego's and how they power stuff...anyway Lane got picked to be one of the volunteers! The dude definitly fit the "crazy scientist" part! You can kinda get a glimps of him back in the corner!

Next up was a little ride....you sit in a car...and take a ride through a tunnel shooting the bad guys! Right up Lane's alley and he loved it! Even though I was snapping away, I somehow ended up with the highest score!

They had a room full of Lego creations!! All were things around town....my favs were Cowboy Stadium...Great Wolf...DFW, and American Airlines.

This was all daddy and aunt Brittany's idea....pretty funny though! Go Rangers!

Another area was a build your own lego racecar and then race it area! Again right up Lane's alley!! Of course Paul had to help him build it!

My aunt Angie and Haley and Jared were with us...they built one as well!

It was a fun filled day! All three boys did great...and were exhausted by the time we got home that night!!

Levi Austin: 5 Months

Here we are..5 months!!

A very quick month has passed once again!

Here is what is going on with Levi at 5 months..

*The most recent thing is that you have started baby food! To date you have tried carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes. You seem to like them all, because you always finish them!! Soon we will try the green veggies, and then eventually some fruit!

*You are taking about five bottles a day, but have trouble finishing them all.

*You are sleeping in your room every night, ALL night!!!! Mommy and daddy are very appreciative of this! You are such a good little sleeper!

*I think I can now safely say that you have moved beyond your screaming fits in the car! Now, going places isn't so bad!!

*You are one of two in your little class at school! A mommy's dream! But also making you one spoiled boy...but that's okay!!

*You are in size 2 diapers and 6-9 month clothes...yes, you are a big boy!!

Hello Baby Food

Today while I was making dinner...Paul was playing with the boys....he put Levi down under his play mat. A little bit later we noticed Levi and he looked like this....

He had totally scooted off his mat!!!

I'm not sure how but he did! He was right in the middle on his back and wound up off it!! Little stinker!!

Tonight was a big night for little mister. We began baby food!!! We choose carrots to start with! He did pretty good with them. He ate about half the jar.

Bedtime Laughs

I meant to post these last night, but never got around to it. While getting Levi ready for bed, Lane thought it would be funny to get in Levi's crib, so I put him in it. Then we put Levi in with him! Then daddy came over and got the boys rolling!! It was so cute and I think that was the most time Lane has spent in that crib, ha!!

Our Weekend

Sadly our weekend has come to an end...it went by too fast! We had a pretty low key weekend. Friday we enioyed a very pleasant evening in Southlake...dinner at our fav, Mi Cocina, then letting Lane run wild in the courtyard area. Saturday started off with Lane's second soccer game, then relaxing at home doing whatever, then it ended with a Scentsy party where I got some yummy fall scents! Today we spent most of the afternoon in Arlington at a friends birthday party. Busy but fun. For some reason I took a ton of pics this weekend of the boys, so I figured I'd put them all in one post!!

At Levi's 4 month appointment we got the go ahead to begin rice cereal with him, so we started this past week! His very first try he didn't really seem to understand what he was supposed to be doing! He just kinda sat there looking at me funny! But as the week went on he got much better and tonight while Paul was feeding him, he was grabbing for the spoon!

We spent time on the floor playing with this little dog!

Levi LOVES his baths!! Here he was this morning...all smiles!!

For our second game, we played the Monkeys!! This week was a huge turn-a-round! All the boys did great and actually looked like they knew what they were doing! They all followed the ball and tried to take it away! Lane did awesome!! He completly surprised me...he was running all around, being aggressive and scoring!!! He scored two goals...two goals in the other team's net (ha!)...and had two almost go in!! They improved so much just from game 1!!

Levi had another "first" this weekend!! All this child wants to do is sit-up! So we knew it was time to get him a bumbo chair! So we picked one up at Target this morning...and he loves it! He is so stinking cute in it...and his chubby little legs barely fit in it! I cannot believe my baby is already big enough to do this!

Lane loves to play. For the longest time my coffee table was a mini racetrack! He would put all his cars around the table and play with them there. But recently I had the idea to take his trains off his table, put together his racetrack on top, and there you have it, a new racetrack!! This morning Lane decided to make a train track all the way out of his room!

It's a daily occurence at our house for Lane to put on either his football attire or his baseball uniform! Today was no exception! He put it on right before the Cowboy game started...and he also brought out his field rug! It just so happened that daddy put Levi in a UT onesie, so I thought this would be a cute picture!

And I'm not sure if I ever did blog about his first roll.....but yes, little man is rolling!! He rolls to his left..it's so cute! He has very good head control, and loves to just look around!

Watching Lane play is very good entertainment!!

Well that's it folks....now it's time for another week...On another note...Is anyone else super excited about Parenthood starting this week!?? That is my favorite show and I can't wait!! Have a good week!

I was greeted this afternoon with a sweet surprise...my Erin Condren "life planner" came!!! I ordered mine about three weeks ago after seeing them everywhere! They were seriously adorable and after looking them up I knew I wanted one! However they were $50 bucks and at first I thought no way would I pay that for a planner! I eneded up finding a coupon and after it all I only paid $25.87..score!! And Oh My...they are SO worth it!!! It is insane!!! It.s big, heavy duty, and super colorful!! Love!

A Special Game Day

It's definitely that time of year...Football Season!! And we love football in this house!! And more importantly...we love TEXAS football in this house! I was born a Texas fan and I love that I was able to convert my hubby into one as well!! He was an Aggie when I met him! And now I get to raise two more sweet little Longhorn loving boys!!

So this past Saturday was pretty special because it was Lane's first time to go to a Texas game!! We knew this year was the year to start taking him and we very excited! He loves all things sports and he was so ready!

So we headed down to Austin Saturday morning. After one minor, okay major, setback with Levi, (if you follow me on FB you know what I'm talking about, ha) we were off! We went with lots of my family in tow! My cousin is a freshman there this year, so we headed to Jester to check out her dorm first!

After a bit of visiting, we headed towards the Co-op, but detoured through campus! This was our attempt at a family shot...not great...Lane wouldn't smile!

Lane was in awe of everything...his eyes were wide and he watched everything!! I love this...his little hand over his heart!

His eyes didn't leave the field...and by kick off he was singing Texas Fight...so cute!!

It was an awesome time!! Lane did great. He did say a couple of times that this game was "taking forever", ha! To top it off Texas won!! This was definitely such a sweet memory! I can't wait for a couple more years when little Mr. Levi gets to go to his first game!!

Levi Austin: Four Months

Well I'm two days late on this post, but it's been a busy past few nights...Levi got shots at his appointment on Monday which made he pretty irritable that night and all he wanted was to be held, then last night I had open house and didn't get home until pretty late. So here is Levi's four month post!

Sweet Levi,

You are four months!!! Yea! So many thing are going on with you...

You love to stand on your feet while being held. This lead us to getting you a jumper...which you really enjoy!

You so want to already sit up, I think because you are always looking around and wanting to see what's going on!

You are still sleeping great! We put you down around 8:45-9:00 and you sleep till about 5:30ish.

You are currently the only baby in your class! This makes mommy very happy to know your getting all the attention you need, but it is making you a very spoiled baby!

You are eating around 6-7 oz. every 4 hours. Monday at your doctors appointment we got the go ahead to start you on rice cereal...and then we can begin baby food!

You are seriously such a happy baby....you love to laugh! You only seem to whine when you're hungry. But you really just don't cry...how did I get so lucky twice!?

You weigh 16 lbs...which puts you in the75th percentile for weight!

You are 24 inches long...which puts you above 50 percent in length!

You are in size 2 diapers and are still wearing about 6 month clothes.

The biggest thing you did this past month was start daycare.

I love watching you grow and discover new things, but each passing month you are getting further and further away from the baby stage. Mommy, daddy, and Lane you love you!

Let the Games Begin

Yesterday Lane had his very first soccer game of the season! Let me just say that the Strikers didn't do very much striking, ha!! We played the oldest team in the league (they were all 4/almost 5) and we are all 3, some newly 3! The boys did score some at the end though, even Lane, and they were all just as happy! Lane did a great job! He followed the ball and never whined or complained to come off the field! He kept saying "We beat the Matrix" and I just said "Yes you did baby!!

The Greatest Show on Earth...Sorta

A couple of weeks ago we took the boys to the circus! This was Lane's first time to go. I was very excited about taking him, because I just knew he would love it! Well, we got there early to do all the "preshow" stuff and it turned out that Lane did not like it. It was loud, there was a ton of people on the floor and it was just too much for him. So we went to our seats to watch all the fun from above!

This was the first time we really took both boys to something like this, and we definitely had our hands full! Between holding sno cones, corn dogs, Levi, a bottle, and M&Ms's I didn't really have a chance to take alot of pics!.

Once the show started Lane got interested. He loved the first couple of main acts...the elephants, the tigers, and the motorcycles. However, some of the acts lost his interest...the tightrope, clowns, the "freak show" acts...and right before intermisson he said "Let's get out of here"!! His exact words! So we decided to leave at intermission..but we only paid $8 a ticket, so I didn't feel bad!

It was a fun evening. If you ask Lane, he'll say he loved it...but he definitely enjoyed Toy Story 3 on Ice much better! I on the other hand, couldn't stop thinking back to Water for Elephants while there, ha!

What's all the fuss?

If you live anywhere in the DFW Metroplex, then you have seen and heard first hand all the hype about In-Out Burgers coming to Texas! It's been crazy seeing people standing in massive lines in anticipation for these to open!

But I did fall victim to all the hype and have been wanting to go and try this place..however, the nearest one to us at the time was in Allen and I couldn't convince Paul to make the drive for a burger...he's not one for all the hype! BUT, last Thursday the one in Ft. Worth opened and since it was alot closer, convincing Paul was much easier! So Sunday we met some family there to try it out!

It was packed and the drive through line was a mile long!! I've never seen anything like this for just a burger! But they were extremely fast and we didn't wait long at all. Overall I thought the burgers were decent...Were they the greatest? NO ....Would I eat there again? Yes. I actually liked the fries the best!

It was a fun little experience and I can now say I've eaten there...for whatever that's worth!

First Day

Sadly our summer came to an end today. I have loved spending time with the boys this summer, but knew this day would come! So here we are, the first day of school for both my boys! Surprisingly, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. In part because we have done this with Lane and he has done great and because I know Levi is in wonderful hands...the same teachers Lane had when he was an infant!

Our morning was good...both boys were easy to get ready! I have been worrying about Lane and how he would do, but I can report that NO tears were shed!!! He is in the Preschool 3 class and I know he will love it! Levi's teacher's said his day was good as well...ate good, napped good, and is such a happy baby...all things you love to hear as a momma picking up your kids after a day away!

So, day one of the year is in the books! And no such occasion would be complete without some pics!!

This weekend the Furr fam made a quick trip down to Houston to meet our new niece, Claire! She arrived early and is seriously the tiniest baby I've ever held!! She has a head full of jet black hair, and is just as cute as can be! We spent Saturday just hanging out. The two big boys played non-stop all day. That evening they swam and we cooked out. It was a great time. I'm so glad we got down to visit, before our crazy Fall starts! Here are alot of pics from our weekend!

Great Wolf

This summer we really wanted to take Lane back to Sea World, seeing how he loved it last year; however this extreme heat and a three month old just do not go together! There was no way I was taking Levi to Sea World and there was no way I was spending a whole weekend if I were to leave him. So instead we opted to stay close to home and go to the Great Wolf Lodge. My mom was in town so Levi spent the night with Grammie while Lane got some one on one mommy and daddy time! We also took along my cousin Jared! It was our first time there and we had alot of fun. This place is all geared towards kids, which makes it great!

Paul and I were constantly in the water with the boys, so I didn't get a whole lot of pics in the water. Lane tried the kid slides a couple of times, but wasn't a big fan.

At night they have a story time at the clock tower. Everyone comes down in their pj's...It was a cute little show.

They also have Magic Quest there! If you haven't done it, it is alot of fun! I first did it in Myrtle Beach. It's kinda like a Harry Potter -magic-hide and seek! You buy wands and go on these quests all through the hotel! Anyway we did that at night. Lane used my wand and he really thought he was playing! He loved it!!

Believe it or not it was freezing inside!! You would get out of the pool or off a slide and be shaking! So Lane's favorite thing was the hot tub!!

They next day, the people from Legoland were there set up in the lobby, so Lane wanted to play!

The boys had a great time and I'm sure we will be going back!!

Levi Austin: Three Months

How is it that we are already at three months??! I really wish time would slow down!! Not much has changed since last month.

So Levi...at three months you are...

* Sleeping through the night!! You take your last bottle around 9:00 and sleep until 6:00...mommy and daddy are very appreciative!!

*You are still eating around 6 ozs. every four hours. Your morning bottle you take 7 ozs!

*You are trying to sit up all on your own! Why is it that both my boys want to do things early!!??

* You have excellent head control!! We are about to get you a Bumbo chair!!

*You love to "stand" on people's lap when they hold you! You are supporting your weight good!

*You love to "watch" your brother! You will watch him and follow him with your eyes!

*You are in size one diapers still and you are wearing anywhere from size 3 to 6 months clothes, depending on the brand!

You are the sweetest little thing! You are growing way too fast and in a couple short weeks you will be starting daycare in the very same room your brother started in. Oh my!!

Welcome Baby Claire

Well I finally have a sweet little girl to love on!!! My first niece arrived three weeks early at 11:24 on July 25th!! Her name is Claire Cantu!! She has a head full of dark hair and looks like her big bro Coen!!

I can't wait to get to Houston to hold her!!! Congrats Holly, Charlie, and Coen!!

My Little Dare Devil

Lane is my little dare devil! Yesterday we were at the mall picking up some soccer gear, when we came upon a bungee trampoline thingy. I kinda jokingly said "Oh Lane you wanna do that?" I expected him to say no, but he said yes! So we paid, got in line and waited for his turn! Paul and I thought for sure he would watch the kids and change his mind! But oh no...he sat patiently and watched the kids in front of him with awe...

Then it was his turn!! He was such a big boy!! He climbed right on up and let the man buckle him in!

Cooling Off

Ugh. This heat is literally unbearable this summer. I hate being stuck indoors so much, but with a two month old it's hard to go do outdoor activities! The Saturday of the 4th we didn't have anything going on and wanted to get out of the house, so I suggested we go to Highland Village to a little splash park. So that's what we did. After grabbing lunch at The Blue Goose (yum) we changed Lane into his swim shorts and let him run wild!!! On the other side there is a Ben n Jerry's with a covered "patio" where we set with the baby. Lane had a blast!

After playing we had to get some ice cream!

Levi was a trooper! He of course slept through most of it!

There is also a Barnes and Noble right there, so after a trip in to get Lane a new train book....he made it all of two seconds in the car before he passed out!!

It was a fun afternoon and I need our city to put one of these splash parks in!!
